An Island Therapy Solutions BCBA must possess a minimum of a graduate degree (e.g., master’s or doctoral) in an acceptable field of study from a qualifying accredited institution. Acceptable fields of study include behavior analysis, education, or psychology. They must also have completed coursework from a qualifying accredited institution and cover the required content as outlined by the BACB. Additionally, an employee in this position must have experience that fully complies with all of the current standards as set forth by the BACB. To be eligible for this position, the employee must also have completed and passed the BCBA Exam prior to being hired.  

The Special Education Teachers works with students at Coral Reef Academy who have been diagnosed with Autism and potential a range of other learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, such as reading, writing, and math.   The Special Education Teacher must have strong communication skills; they must be able to not only give instructions to students, but also communicate with parents, mental health specialists, and administrators. They must have empathy, patience, and organization. A degree in Special Education is required for this position.
